
Job summary
Description:
The selected individual will be responsible for performing Nightly Data Center operations, and monitoring of IT systems (iSeries/IBM i and Webservers). Execute daily production system tasks and procedures including system back-ups and nightly reports.
Specific Function
* Monitor all production data systems
* Perform nightly scheduled production system update functions:
- Follow documented procedures
- Update live data on MBS Direct and Textbooks.com web sites
* Manage and monitor daily system back-ups
* Use Jira to document developer’s access to the iSeries production systems
* Work withDatabase Admins on troubleshooting issues.
* Maintaindepartmental documentation
* Build monthly data needed for customer buyback databases
* Implementdeveloper code changes onto production systems.
* Document and escalate operational concerns/problems to appropriate staff.
* Take direction from senior staff members to correct more complex problems.
THIS IS A FULL-TIME, PERMANENT POSITION AND REPORTS TO: Josh Galan, iSeries Operations Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
Ability to demonstrate attention to detailwith high problem solving skills required. Must be able to work unsupervised. Knowledge of computer hardware and software is beneficial. Previous data-entry experience and/or computer operations is helpful. Must have familiarity with Windows OS.
